Before you make a single video, you do research and you pick who's going to sell your product. This one decision can double your views, so we don't guess, we research it.
Look at your competitors, the concepts they're running, and which platforms they're on. Then take it to Claude and Gemini: give them the account links and the winning videos, and ask what character would work best and whether you should copy their concepts or run fresh ones.
While you're here, make sure you can actually get the product, on AliExpress or by messaging a supplier. No point building around something you can't ship.
Your character attracts an audience that looks like them, it's that simple. A white creator selling a USA flag pulls white buyers. Run a black creator and no competitor has, now you're reaching a whole audience they aren't.
Age and gender do the same thing. A young good-looking guy attracts older women. A hard-working young woman attracts older men. An older person attracts older people. Pick the character that pulls the buyer you want.
And a fresh character makes the algorithm see your videos as new, so you can run the same product and concept as a competitor and still go viral.
For handmade and personal-brand products, keep one consistent character so people know them. For wow-factor and problem-solving products, you can run different characters each video.
Research done, product sourced, character created. Now we make the videos.
The next three lessons show the full process for each product type. Start with the one that matches your product.
